New Gran Turismo 5 patch v 1.03 fixes damage

Polyphony's unleashed the latest Gran Turismo 5 patch which adds mechanical damage settings online.

Polyphony Digital boss Kaz Yamauchi, gave news on the new update at the beginning of the month saying that it would address fan concerns with the game's controversial mechanical damage system, which was previously unlocked with in-game experience. Initial reports on the update are suggesting that control over damage levels is, however, limited to online modes.

Players have three levels of "none", "light" and "heavy" to choose from.

The next Gran Turismo 5 patch is expected to allow save data back-ups and will arrive at the end of the month.

The patch weight around 150 MB and it will add a mechanical damage to the game along with an option of either none, light or heavy damage.

Cataclysm street date broken

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm isn't scheduled for release until the early hours of tomorrow morning, but a few lucky Warcraft fiends have managed to get their hands on Blizzard's latest expansion a little early. A number of GameStop stores in Sweden have jumped the gun and sold Cataclysm before its official launch, breaking an international sales embargo in the process, GI.biz reports.
GameStop staff have confirmed the sales, citing the breach of the embargo by a rival chain, the Gothenburg branch of Rocks, as the reason for its decision to sell the title early.

However, the GameStop stores in question have since stopped selling the game and vowed to abide by the midnight sales embargo.

Despite receiving the game early, players won't be able to launch Cataclysm until Blizzard throw the switches on at midnight.

GAME will be holding the UK launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm later today in Leicester Square, London.

New donkey kong wii jungle beat and Videos

What's the best Donkey Kong game of all time? Perhaps Nintendo's new history of Donkey Kong video will help you decide as it shows off footage from his most famous games.

Donkey Kong is arguably the most important as not only was it Nintendo's big entry into the world of gaming, it also introduced us to Jumpman who would later become Mario.

We then see the game in action on Game & Watch and NES before moving on to Donkey Kong's big comeback. The awesome SNES platformer that was 1994's Donkey Kong Country. Next is 1999's Donkey Kong 64 followed by GameCube's Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat also takes us back to the days when games didn't really need some kind of intricate plot nor heroes any real motivation. Basically, some weird flying tiki masks have nicked DK's bananas and mesmerised his jungle-living chums. DK and his son, Diddy, are off to get them back - and that's all there is to it. DK runs from left to right, the screen scrolls with him, there's a whole lot of banana-collecting, along with enemies to be jumped on or rolled over and various deadly objects to be avoided. It's a classic platformer in the vintage mould, and the kind of game that leaves you feeling that, sometimes, we don't really need to reinvent the platform gaming wheel.

Finally, there's some Donkey Kong Country Returns footage. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat already released and ready to be owned.

Donkey Kong Country Back In Action

Nintendo, it is fair to say, can take much credit for innovation in gaming's recent past. The company popularised gesture-control though the Wii, and used the DS to charm swathes of non-gamers into picking up a stylus. And yet, in spite of this reputation for leading the medium into new realms, where Nintendo often excels is in a gaming form largely consigned to history: the humble platformer.

Retro Studios are starting to make a name for themselves as the go-to guys for revamping classic gaming series. They breathed new life into Metroid with their Prime FPS games and they've once again worked their magic here.

Sticking closely to the blueprint laid down in its 16-bit SNES predecessor, this 2D side-scrolling platformer is as fun and challenging as it gets.

Like the Super Mario titles of generations past, Donkey Kong Country Returns challenges the player with the apparently simple task of moving from A to B by traversing a two-dimensional plain generously peppered with ledges, moving scenery, bottomless pits and wildly jerking contraptions that are all designed to outwit the titular protagonist. Itself a sequel to the 1994 game Donkey Kong Country, Nintendo's latest in a long line of platformers is an elaborate showcase of level design and a marvel of pacing.

Donkey Kong's destination as he jumps and climbs hardly matters. It is the journey across a large tropical island that counts. Indeed, the sun-kissed assault courses that he must negotiate look basic at first glance, friendly even, draped as they are in luscious flora and bristling with lolloping island wildlife. In fact, thanks to incredibly sharp level design, each is a rich playground filled with surprises, and many are genuinely challenging. Every few minutes of play introduce a clever new spin on what can be done with such a simple template, as platforms and ledges are combined in inspired and original ways. Such is the game's wit and cunning that it teases with fresh conundrums at the exact moment you feel you have learned all its tricks.

Sony Says Gran Turismo 5 will boost Playstation 3 Sales

Gran Turismo 5 has headed straight into the UK gaming charts at the number one spot, knocking Call of Duty: Black Ops from the top of the charts for the first time since it went on sale earlier this month. The release of Gran Turismo 5 would help boost Playstation 3 Sales  on the run up to Christmas. Well it seems Sony believes that the launch of GT5 will drive PS3 sales.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Screenshots

David Wilson, Head of PR at Sony UK, Said Gran Turismo 5 “will serve as a true driver of new console purchases” following “one of the strongest years in recent memory”.
In an interview with MCV, Wilson revealed “2010 has been one of the strongest years in recent memory for quality game releases, and we have culminated the year with the launch of Gran Turismo 5.”
He continued “We are confident that Gran Turismo 5 will do great business between launch and Christmas.”
Whilst Gran Turismo 5 has is now at the top of the charts, it seems it is only the sixt biggest PS3 launch to date, and around 94 percent of the games sales were from the regular edition of the games with the other 6 percent from collectors editions.

How fast is Gran Turismo 5 playstation 3

Gran Turismo 5 Sold 1.8 Million in just two days after it was both hyped up and delayed before it was finally released last week. Figures show that from the first two days sales worldwide it managed to sell 1.8 million units putting it on target to sell just under 2.5 million units in a week.
If it’s first weeks sales do hit 2.5 million it will equal Gran Turismo 4 and put it in fifth position of the fastest selling games on the PlayStation 3 to date. If this is the case it will be behind games such as Call of Duty Black Ops and Grand Theft Auto IV, quite an impressive achievement.
The Gran Turismo series has been ultra popular with fans, as it delivers a fast racing game that more than meets the standards in simulation style gaming. GT5 proves that even more, as it will have more than 1,000 plus types of cars and a multitude of options not seen in the everyday style of racing games.
Technology has improved so that racing games have become much more realistic than they could have been only a couple of years ago. Now, the games can be produced in HD, making the cars shimmer and shine and look far more realistic in everything they do. Some of the additions to GT5 are a track editor, phone mode, and the ability for 16 players to join together in one game.
Players will get the realistic feel of things like browsing in a used car market, customizing their cars, working on their cars, and earning credits before race time. It helps players learn what their car can do and how to get it to its limit and beyond on various stages of the races during the game.
Graphics are big on GT5. When test played on a Sony Bravia 3D compatible set, the results were astoundingly realistic. Some cars in the game are more realistic and these are considered the “premium” cars. They have advanced designs and are customizable with detailed interiors and brilliant bodywork. But with 1000s of cars, Polyphony Digital couldn’t do this with every one available for play.

Gran Turismo 5 – review

Five years in the making – racing fans have had a long wait for Gran Turismo 5. At the game's launch in Madrid on Wednesday its creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, explained to the Observer the connection between the long gestation and the rationale that drives him: "There is quite a gap between just completing something and perfecting it…" GT5 was not to be merely about the brute simplicities of gaming. Beyond pointing and pushing, more than merely steering a sim, it was to be his team's every ambition incarnate – racing perfection.

As light turns to dark at Le Mans' Circuit de la Sarthe and the headlights flicker on (dipped or full beam – wonderful), it feels like it was worth all those years. Full darkness descends and, upon entering the Porsche Curves, fireworks begin to explode from the campsites (as they do in real life); this detail, both beautiful and distracting, is extraordinary.
As is a downpour at Monza. Using cockpit view – the first of the genre to really, really work in detail and playability – the racing line disappears in the rain, opponents in a wall of spray in front, while through the rear window a mist of brakelight-tinged red mist obscures everything. Weather and time differentiation have never been done better. GT5 offers many such gems to revel in.
And so many ways in which to revel. More than 1,000 cars populate the game, 200 of them branded as premium – modelled in painstaking detail, offering a sense of more than just simulated metal and rubber. A palpable love of the subject matter almost turns them into works of art. There are the circuits, innumerable with swathes of variations, Madrid and Rome joining London as unique street venues. The Nürburgring may be GT5's talisman but it has strength in depth here as well.
Then there is the physics, with exemplary modelling (in full, impressive, 3D if you have the requisite kit). A real feeling of being in control of a heavy, powerful machine is conveyed, particularly under braking. Cars can be differentiated purely by how much the back end slips out and how they perform turning-in when lunging toward an apex. Attention to detail – with any amount of assists and under-bonnet upgrading and, of course, set-up tweaking – is so extensive that GT5 simply demands to be played with a steering wheel for the full experience.
The "experience" lies at the game's core. Levelling-up and unlocking tracks and cars is central to the game and, although enhanced by special events, be warned, as a labour of love the designers will not let you just jump straight into a muscle car; the time they spent will now become yours…
And yet in certain ways it seems like the five years weren't quite enough. The front end is still clunky and the AI, although much improved, can verge from too conservative to occasionally wilful at times. While, for an immersive sim, the hollow "bonk" noise engendered by hitting a rival is noticeably unrealistic. Perhaps it can be fixed. The 16-player online experience, a mighty but flawed achievement, was especially marred by a lack of performance classification, making racing in anything other than supercars pointless. It will be added, Yamauchi promised, within days. Equally, the single most jarring omission, the absence of mechanical damage affecting performance – fundamental to any racing sim – is to be incorporated in an upgrade this Wednesday.
Yamauchi-san has indeed created an artifice of marvel and wonder. But it seems his quest for perfection must continue – one doubts he would have it any other way. And in the meantime Gran Turismo 5 is one hell of a ride.

Gran Turismo 5 Gameplay and Patch v1.03

Gran Turismo 5 is a racing game that brands itself as "the real driving simulator". Players can compete in various types of races that range from hot hatches to go karts to exotics to NASCAR and WRC. As with previous Gran Turismo games, players can race in a straightforward "arcade mode" for quick one-off races or log into GT Mode to enter in a series of challenges and structured races to gain experience points and credits. Experience enables players to race at increasingly higher levels, while credits can be used to buy cars. The game features a whopping one thousand-plus cars divided into two categories: "Standard" and "Premium". The difference between the two is level of detail and the realistic cockpit view. Players can customize their cars by visiting the Tuning Shop. GT5 players can also customize tracks with a new course maker or ride on pre-built courses, like the test track from popular BBC show Top Gear. Online multiplayer for up to 16 players not only gives GT5 legs, but establishes a strong community of players.

Gran Turismo 5 has been home to a few online issues since its launch a couple days ago, and producer Kazunori Yamauchi quickly announced an update for later in the week. However, Polyphony Digital turned on the turbo and has released the patch earlier than expected.
As promised, Polyphony Digital has released its first major post-release patch for racing simulator Gran Turismo 5. The patch is named v1.03, and its 113 megabytes of content have increased the number of connections in addition to adding horsepower and weight restriction options to online mode.
More server stability and content within days of launch.

Medal of Honor – Sniper Rules and Quad Buggies

Medal of Honor is the new first person shooter from developers Danger Close and DICE and publisher Electronic Arts, taking the player to the battlefields of Afghanistan and putting him in the dessert combat boots of a variety of characters that engage the Taliban after the events of September 11, 2001.

Apparently every major first person shooter from the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series need to have a vehicle section disguised as something else.

Modern Warfare 2 pulled off a sequence based around snowmobiles that felt pretty epic on the first play through, with its quick pace, tree dodging, the need to take out enemy vehicles and the final jump to rescue.

Medal of Honor aims to surprise the player by putting him on a quad and making him drive through the Afghan countryside as he tracks enemy forces, gathers intelligence and then plans a course of action for taking the fight to the Taliban.

The problem is that the sequence lacks excitement and that the quads feel wholly unnecessary and discordant when compared to mission that the Tier 1 Operators need to complete.

Sure your partner Dusty will tell you about when the enemy is near sections and about the need to go silent at some points to avoid detection but the quads are just a sort of bus replacement with a long range sniper rifle attached to the front.

The sniper action is very well done in Medal of Honor, especially when it involves moving targets and the view is partially obscured.

And, for a game which aims to be close to the conflict it depicts in terms of hardware and background if not in terms of politics, the quads are completely out of place.

The characters you play seem to be pretty concerned with blending into the population of the areas they are operating in, as seen in their face covering beards and their fashion choices and such a vehicle would only make them easy to spot as foreigners and get targeted.

It would have been better to stick to the Toyota pickups form the first missions for transportation and look to innovate rather than imitate in terms of shock sections.

Video game drops Taliban label amid protests

(Credit : Softsailor.com)

The makers of a new video game based in Afghanistan said Friday they have removed the option for players to call themselves members of the Taliban when pretending to shoot at U.S. troops.
Electronic Arts, a major game developer based in Redwood City, Calif., said it has dropped the Taliban label from a version of its "Medal of Honor" video game after families of troops complained it was offensive.
Military bases across the U.S. had banned the sale of the game in reaction to those family protests.
Past versions of the game have been set in World War II, allowing players to act as either members of Allied forces or Nazi troops.
The latest version, scheduled to be released on Oct. 12, is set in modern-day Afghanistan, where some 150,000 U.S. and NATO troops are fighting the Taliban.
The game's story line is told through a small group of characters known as "Tier 1" operators, elite fighters who take their orders directly from the president and defense secretary.
As is common in many video games, players can switch sides to play the bad guy.
Electronic Arts said the art and graphics for the game would remain the same, including realistic depictions of fire fights between U.S. Special Operations forces and Afghan insurgents.
Spokesman Jeff Brown said the only difference will be seen in the version of the game that allows multiple players. When opting to play as part of the anti-U.S. force, the player will select "OPFOR" — a military term for opposing force — instead of "Taliban."
Brown said it was the Taliban label that seemed to upset consumers most.

Halo Reach - The Next Level of Halo Gaming

Halo Reach
Halo Reach, an upcoming first person shooter video game designed by Bungie, started as Bungie Software Products Corporation, which is an American video game developer located in Washington. Microsoft Game Studios publish this for Xbox 360 console. Reach is planned for release on 14th of September 2010. The game is an assumption of a happening in 2552, where humanity is in war with alien Covenant. Covenant is a fictional theocratic military alliance of alien races who serve as the main antagonists in the halo science fiction series. Variety of diverse species are united in the Covenant and they believe that Forerunner ring worlds known as Halos will provide a path to salvation.

First person shooter is a video game that centering game play around gun and projectile weapon based combat through the first person perspective; i.e., the player experiences the action through the eyes of a protagonist. Call Of Duty (How To Boost Your Kill Death Ratio)

There are many ways to improve your Kill Death Ratio I will focus on a few. Having a high KDR is all about ones pride and skill. Here a some tips that will improve your KDR.

(1) Understanding the map
Knowing the map plays a huge part in your KDR if you know where to go at the right times you can capitalize on kills fast. Some routes and angles are a guaranteed kill for you if you play your cards right. You need to spend some time and familiarize yourself with buildings, corners, blind spots, line of sight, little areas on the map where you can look through or behind cracks in the walls or doors even little spots through bushes. Once you understand a map and how long it takes for people to get from one spot to another you can position your self in ways that will make you seem like a god and or mind reader. That's the key right there. For an example, As you run through the map, There will be certain areas you'll look for (typical where you normally get killed from) once you do this enough it will become second nature for you, There are many times where i have loaded into a server and simply because i know where people shoot from.. I'd just pop off a few shots randomly and get kills.
Sometimes I even jump around a corner and pre fire and there will be 2-3 people sitting there camping or something. There are also times when I bait the enemy.. If everything is quite I'll fire a shot or 2 then quickly aim at the window or depending where I am a door way or corner and someone will poke their head out looking to kill me but by the time they aim I'm already firing at them

(2) Picking the right guns
There are a few ways to look at this. Some players say that there are certain guns you use in certain maps then you have the players that are good with only a hand full of guns My suggestion is if you trying to play a serious game then use what your good with simple as that. I'm good with the scout inCSS any map any amount of players it doesn't matter im a beast! Close range or long range. Same goes for the Ak47 I can snipe with that baby in any game! COD MW COD MW2 and CSS. If you want to practice with other weapons go for it. It's always good to be versatile but if you want to walk out of the round with a HIGH KDR stick to what you know

(3) Know your Limits
If you are a sniper don't try to run and gun with a semi auto.. If sniping isn't your cup of tea don't pick it up. If you are not good at facing multiple enemies it might be a good idea for you to play slower and pick choke points that you can control on the map. Now I'm not saying outright camp (although that is good idea) I'm just saying make sue you have a few spots on the map that you can will a shoot out in 70% of the time. This will give you a huge advantage in any FPS game

(4): Play cheap (no cheat)
SPAWN CAMP ANY CHANCE YOU HAVE.. Why? Well if you are like me you like to upset people lol.. Seriously do whatever it takes besides cheating to get your kills.. Nade spam, camp, camp spawns etc
Some of my favorite games

Help For World Of Warcraft - Learn Four Ideas To Make Gold Faster

You must admit it, with out with the ability to efficiently make gold in WoW, you're getting the quick end of the stick. Without gold, you will have difficulty purchasing the weapons you need, could have problem leveling as fast as you would like, and can have trouble buying items that you need to progress via the game. In different words, with out gold in World of Warcraft you'll not have much fun.

Nonetheless, there is good news. The good news is that it is possible for everyday Warcraft gamers to make decent gold with easy World of Warcraft gold tips.
Here are some tips and tricks that it's best to follow:

WoW Gold Tip No 1: Make Note of AH Costs

Many gamers solely use the auction house to trade goods. If they're shopping for something it almost definitely means they "need" it for raiding or another purpose. A cautious eye can spot offers on the AH which mean immediate earnings. Excellent example, last week I picked up a new 22 slot bag for 500 gold. Did I need it? No. I bought it because I knew that they had been going for 1000 gold just last week. Within four hours I sold the bag extremely "cheap" at 900 gold. My buyer was thrilled and I made four hundred gold. That was for less than 3 minutes of commerce channel banter.

World of Warcraft Gold Tip Number two: Drop The Crafting Professions And Go For Gathering Professions.

Mining and Skinning shall be tops earlier on, however Mining and Herbalism would be the most worthwhile in your long run. Pick 2 of these gathering professions. Be aware that this doesn't mean you need to abandon the fun of crafting professions. You may get pleasure from returning to them later once you have made yourself wealthy through gathering. Trust me: Crafting is pricey and will only lose you money, especially early in your character's life cycle.

WoW Gold Tip Number three: Buy As Many Bags As The Character Can Carry

Chances are you'll find yourself not wanting to buy and bring along too many bags when adventuring. This is a abd move. You need to carry as many bags as you possibly can afford. It is advisable save every thing you find. Most gamers lose gobs and gobs of gold by not collecting everything they come across. Even the white and gray items will accumulate enough to make you some serious world of warcraft gold. Do not drop the stuff or pass it off to some others since you see little use in it. Put up for sale all the things on the Auction House.

WoW Gold Tip Number 4: Do Not Buy Gold from the Chinese Farmers

Where would we be without Mario and his brother Luigi?  The little guy that was first introduced in the "Donkey Kong" arcade game in 1981 has gone on to much bigger and better things.  The Mario brothers are synonymous with the Nintendo video games and have found their way into homes all around the world.  The following short list represents the 3 most popular Super Mario games in 2010.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Based on the name it is obvious that this game is a sequel to the hugely popular Super Mario Galaxy introduced in 2007.  The new game takes players through a wide range of different planets and outer space scenes.  Gamers can complete the different levels with just Mario or add Yoshi as a helper.  The introduction of some different power-ups, as well as unique power-ups that work only when teaming with Yoshi, give the game a whole new variety of twists and fun.

Mario Kart Wii
The excitement of the Mario driving games are back in the new Wii module.  The Wii wheel adds a more exciting feel to the game for players of all ages.   Different tracks around the world along with new tricks give gamers all kinds of way to enjoy the driving!  This game gives the option of picking from one of the characters found in Nintendo games or as their own personally designed character.  These specially designed characters can also be found on the sidelines cheering on the contestants.

New Super Mario Bros
The Wii console has allowed Nintendo to fulfill a long standing goal; a multiplayer game that allows simultaneous play.  The new platform can accommodate from 2 to 4 players.  The players can work together in the adventures or go head to head in competition.  One of the favorite additions is the propeller suit.  This suit allows players to reach high altitudes in the sky through the Wii Remote movements.  Another popular feature is Mario's new power to change to Penguin Mario.
The Super Mario games have been favorites of gamers for many years. Some experts credit the first Super Mario game as the catalyst that revitalized the sagging video market in the early 80's. Thanks to the new platforms the Super Mario Wii games looks poised to continue riding their wave of popularity.
